Hummingbird Bakery Engagement Calendar ReviewThe cover looks just like the picture shown - except that the border is not a pale pink, it's a fuchsia color (at least the one they sent me anyway). It is spiral bound with a pink band closure (just like the one shown). The border is also cloth cover. It lays flat when writing. On the spine of the cover there was a label that had a title that says: 2012 The Hummingbird Bakery Engagement Calendar. On the bottom in small print it also says: Peel Off; so I peeled the label off the spine, but now I wish I hadn't because it looked fine with it on, and it didn't bother me at all, but needless to say, I peeled the label off of the spine.
The first page has the usual, This Belongs To, and a page for notes. The months are tabbed. The pages are made of quality paper. There are dessert recipes and colorful desserts on random pages. The pages are lined and yellow; with black text and pink borders. There is a monthly calendar at the beginning of each month, and then weekly pages for the month. One week per page. There is a Holiay Calendar in the end for 2013. In the beginning of the planner there are info pages as well - country codes, weights & measures, time zones & dialing codes (mine came with a miss-print of the word "dialing" and spelt it "dialling" - I do hope it was just mine and not a mass production print error!). I am a perfectionist, so something like that would warrant for a return, but it's so lovely that I don't mind that the word "dialing" is mis-spelt on one of the pages. There is also a page for birthdays and anniversaries, as well as on the bottom of the page listing birthstones and traditional anniversaries gifts from first year to 60th anniversary. There is also a few pages in the back for contacts. On the inside of the back cover, there is an envelop that is attached to it for storing pictures, important receipts, etc.
This is one of the most lovely planners I've ever seen, with such bright colors and beautiful layout, format and pictures. Ryland Peters & Small (the publishing company/distributor) always makes lovely planners, journals, address books, etc. I have many of their products. Anyway, I bought this directly from Amazon when it cost $1 more. I got it for $15.56, but I see now that it cost $14.96; anyhoo, it came within a week with Free Super Saving Shipping.
